Functional-Grammatical Field of Staples, Formed from Prepositional units with the Lexeme Vopros. Article One

Abstract: The article demonstrates modelling and verification by speech practice of the volume and boundaries of the morphosyntactic paradigm of prepositions with the lexeme vopros (question) in the volume of 108 prepositional units, including reduplicators, including potential ones. The «conjunction-forming» potential of the preposition paradigm v voprose, realized by the basic preposition and two reduplicates, is presented; the functional-grammatical field of conjunction means is structured from 5 zones — the core of conjunctions, the near-core zone and the peripheral zones — near, far, outermost.

Methods of Naming Mobile Devices Based on Computer Technology in Modern Russian

Abstract: The purpose of the article is the theoretical substantiation of the concept of «personal computing device» and the analysis of the vocabulary naming mobile types of these devices. Neological processes in this area and ways of adaptation of borrowed Anglicisms are discussed. The vocabulary under consideration is fragmentary and inconsistently presented in dictionaries, in some cases there are no rules for uniform spelling. The lexical material described in the article was obtained as a result of a questionnaire, the data of the Russian National Corpus and the results of an Internet search for keywords were also analyzed.

‘Bebryan Sleeve’ from ‘The Tale of Igor’s Campaign’ in Russian and Chinese Slavic Studies

Abstract: The phrase «bebryan sleeve» remains one of the most confusing expressions in «The Tale of Igor’s Campaign». Researchers propose new interpretations about it from time to time. This article aims to overview various explanations of this expression according to the rationality and validity of each view. The main research materials of this paper are various essays in Russian and Chinese Slavic studies and translations of «The Tale of Igor’s Campaign» into both languages. In addition, the authors also analyze the limitations of the various hypotheses and indicate the ambiguity of «bebryan sleeve». Subsequently, the importance of hermeneutic research into this phrase for the literary and historical-cultural study are systematically assessed.

Metaphorics of the Terrible in Contemporary Russian Horror (Based on the Works of A. Vargo)

Abstract: The article analyzes the metaphorical level of genre representation of horror literature related to the segment of popular literature. It is concluded that the most frequent semantic groups of metaphors are infernal and animalistic. Metaphors describing various physical sensations that accompany the emotion of fear also play an important role in creating an atmosphere of horror. A number of metaphorical images signal danger, hidden (swamp) or obvious (weapon). It is shown that metaphors play a decisive role in creating an emotional atmosphere of horror.

Types of Polysemy in Russian as a Means of Semantics in the Practice of Teaching Russian as a Foreign Language

Abstract: The article deals with the problem of the word-formation component of the communicative competence of foreign students, it is pointed out that regular work should be carried out in classes with foreign philology students to activate skills to determine the producing word for a particular derivative. The ability to determine the derivation of a word, to trace its connections with the producer allows foreign students to establish the word-formation depth of an unfamiliar derivative, gives students the opportunity to guess the previously unknown meanings of a polysemantic derivative word.

A Feature Film as a Means of Forming the Socio-Cultural Competence of Bilingual Students (Based on the Example of A. Rowe’s movie ‘Morozko’)

Abstract: The article is devoted to working with feature films that are used in the educational process as an effective tool for the inculturation of foreign students into a new linguistic and cultural environment. In addition, watching films is a means of developing communicative and sociocultural competence. The authors describe a model of working with the authentic movie tale «Morozko» for the Russian language and linguistic and cultural studies classes with the bilingual students. The set of exercises developed for the fairy tale aimed at removing potential lexical difficulties, conducting a comparative analysis of Russian folklore and the native epic of students, allows one to realize fully the epimistic, didactic and emotionally expressive potential of the chosen method.

Abstract: This article presents an analytical analysis of the 2nd grade Russian language textbook as part of the innovative line of Russian language textbooks for schools in the Kyrgyz Republic. Traditional and new elements of the textbook content are highlighted. The analyzed edition is characterized by a special cognitive value of educational materials, the presence of tasks focused on the formation of socio-cultural and linguacultural competence of schoolchildren, the focus on achieving meta-subject learning outcomes.

Correlation of Spaces in the Memoirs of O.B. Sirotinina ‘Life in Spite Of, or I am a Happy Person: Memories’

Abstract: The review presents the analysis of the text of the Memoirs of Professor O.B. Sirotinina as the invaluable source of the information for the linguists studying problems of the author’s linguistic personality and individual style. The elements of the text space of memoirs are considered; their significance as a realistic description of the picture of the philological searches of the leading linguists of the twentieth century is shown. The high degree of scientific nature of the narration is emphasized. The style of creating the image of the author — the wise Teacher — allows us to conclude that the style of O.B. Sirotinina is close to the genre of the oratorical prose.

The Scientific Heritage of M.V. Vsevolodova and the Actual Problems of Linguodidactics, Functional-Communicative and Comparative-Typological Study of the Russian Language

Abstract: The article discusses the problems of reports that were read by participants in the scientific and methodological seminar «Linguodidactic description of the Russian language in the mirror of foreign language systems», dedicated to the 95th anniversary of the birth of Professor M.V. Vsevolodova and her scientific heritage. The versatility of M.V. Vsevolodova’s personality and breadth of scientific interests are emphasized, her huge contribution to the scientific substantiation of the functional and communicative linguodidactic model of language is noted, linguistic and methodological problems reflecting the directions of the scientist’s research are discussed.
